OBJECTIVES:

Bonding
A care group that fails to properly build lives together even though it may have success in other areas, will ultimately fall apart. This bonding process of building relationship cannot take place apart from growth in character (2Cor 13:4-7, Col 3:12-16, Prov 27:17, James 3:17-18)

Muturing
"But speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in all aspects into Him who is the Head even Christ ..." (1 Cor 13:1-8)

One cannot develop excellence in spiritual gifts and ministries and be built together in relationship apart from also growing in the character of Christ.

We are to become more and more like Jesus in the things we say and do.

Equipping
"For the equipping of the saints for the work of service ... according to the proper working of each individual part ..." (Eph 4:11)

The "proper working of each individual part" is essential to the growth and ministry of the church.

Each individual Christian must be equipped for the work to which God has called them.

Reproducing
"... For the work of service to the building up of the body of Christ ... proper working of each individual part causes the growth of the body ... " (Mt 28:19-20)

The work of service that the saints (holy ones) are called to, is not just to bless one another, but to make disciples.
 

CLUSTERED CARE GROUP

  • Currently 20 Care Groups with about 150 regular members

  • Formation of 3 'clusters' (Daniel 3)

    • Shadrach

    • Meshach

    • Abed-Nego

  • 50-100 per cluster, potential growth to 300 members

  • Quarterly meetings

  • Meeting

    • Place in Church

    • 5-8 pm

    • Either last or second last Sunday of the month

  • Program format

    • Dinner

    • Teaching

    • Discussion Groups

    • Worship in song (new hymns)

    • Corporate prayer (teaching how to pray together)

  • Education - 'Framework for Christian Education' developed internally. The cluster meetings will have a different topic from usual care group meetings. You can either replace your regular meetings once every four months with the arranged cluster meeting or have your usual meeting on another day.

They will be calling up the respective cluster care group leaders for a short briefing (on a Sunday morning) sometime before each cluster meeting.

The first cluster meeting for Shadrach will be Sunday March 30th 5pm in church.
